The American Legion Post 315 Amateur Radio Club is a 501(c)19 non-profit corporation. We gratefully accept monetary donations and equipment you no longer need or want. We are a dedicated group of amateur radio enthusiasts who through “DONATIONS” helps those who do to circumstances beyond their control cannot afford Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) equipment. There are several ways that you can support our club:
Estate and Retirement Donations
The American Legion post 315 Amateur Radio Club will gladly accept direct tax-free donations from your IRA,401(k), pension plan, and accepts donated ham equipment from an estate or from Hams Operators who no longer have use of equipment regardless of its condition we will find a home for it. DONATED Ham Radio Equipment helps those who have an FCC Amateur Radio License but cannot afford the expense of the Amateur Radio Hobby.
Tax Relief for Required Minimum distributions (RMD)
If you are 73, you can arrange for a direct distribution of amounts from your IRA, 401(k), pension plan, or similar retirement plans directly to qualified charities of your choice. Distributions made in this manner are not included in your taxable income. Such distributions do not also qualify as an itemized deduction, but do qualify as part or all of your annual Required Minimum Distribution from such plans. Lowering your taxable income may save taxes on your social security income, keep you out of a higher tax bracket, and be of great benefit if you take the standard deduction instead of itemizing. There are some timing requirements and limitations; if you would like to consider this approach in making a charitable donation to The American legion post 315 Amateur Radio club, please contact your tax advisor and the American Legion post 315 Amateur Radio Club Treasurer for the process to accomplish this before year end.
